government shutdown. and there's no end in sight. meaning thousands of federal workers are without a paychecks. >> a san francisco man is behind bars accused of running a billion-dollar website selling everything from drugs to hit men. the fbi tracked the man they believe posed as dread pirate roberts and arrested him at a public library. >> one more week, that's how long bart and the unions have to negotiate before the cooling- off period is over. the two sides are chipping away at the $100 million gap between them. kpix 5's anne makovec has the new numbers as contract talks continue. there's some movement. >> reporter: not nearly enough. the two sides are very far athe pa. bart macment went late into the night last night poring over the union numbers trying to get closer to those demands. in the meantime passengers at stations like this one wait to find out what's next. >> it's people like me who use the bart to get home and to work. you know, it's going to be

stressful. >> reporter: the latest union proposal asks for a 3.75% raise over two years and 4% the third and a 10th of a percent raise for every 10th of a percent that weekly ridership goes above bart projections. the unions also want bart to reimburse workers 72 cents for every dollar they contribute to their pensions. as for bart, they are still offering employees a 2.5% raise over 4 years. >> we made a little progress. they came down a little. not very much but a little. >> management has not changed its recommendations on wages since the 60-day cooling-off period began 52 days ago. >> reporter: as bart passengers wait to find out how a strike might impact their lives as soon as next week. they are crossing their fingers for compromise. >> they should be reach an agreement that nobody is satisfied with but everyone could live with. >> reporter: both sides go back to the negotiating table at 11 a.m. live in pleasant hill, anne makovec, kpix 5. >> bart is expanding service over the weekend because of a number of events here in the bay area.

it's busy. the a's will have a play-off game at coliseum on friday and saturday nights. the oakland raiders play at home sunday night late. the cal bears are at home against washington state saturday afternoon. and the hardly strictly bluegrass festival runs over the weekend at golden gate park. we have a busy weekend. how are the roads? let's check in with liz. >> it's not too good if you are anywhere near the castro valley y. traffic is beginning to stack up and it's because of this. we have a new accident. it's northbound 238 right before east 14th street. so traffic is starting to slow on 580 and on 238 as you make your way closer towards the nimitz freeway. we'll continue to watch it but it's a tight freeway right there anyway and one lane is blocked. out towards the bay bridge and it looks like traffic is filling in, in the middle lanes. so if you watch us every morning you know that that means the metering lights were turned on. and they were just turned on about 3 minutes ago so we are seeing delays at the end of the parking lot in all the lanes in the cash and fastrak lanes now. about 10 to 15 minutes to get

you on to the bay bridge. mass transit a great option this weekend and this morning. bart systemwide on time with more than 40 trains all reporting no delay and ace trains 1 and 3 both got great starts out of the central valley. that's the latest from here in the "timesaver traffic" center. let's check the forecast with brian hackney. >> we are starting off with numbers all over the place. the temps, they are achangin' and napa right now just 41 degrees. in livermore it's 49 and 60 at fairfield. winds wide ranging as well gusting at fairfield to about 20 miles an hour, but calm in other parts. strong offshore winds will pick up over the next 24 hours as we get northeasterlies by this afternoon and this evening and that's prompted red flag warnings throughout the bay area beginning tonight. the numbers today don't warm much. about the same as yesterday. 80 degrees in santa rosa. we'll be at 77 at redwood city. mountain view hit 75 degrees. and in san jose, 77. look ahead, there's not a drop of rain in sight but the numbers do come up this weekend

and that is going to lead to high fire danger. we'll cover all that in a minute. but the weather in terms of our indian summer, it is rolling right along. the government, on the other hand, shut down. frank? >> good segue, right now the federal government's partial shutdown is in its third day and all sides suggest nothing is going to get solved today. a meeting did not lead to a solution. cbs' susan mcginnis reports. reporter: congressional leaders left the white house last night without a deal to end the government shutdown, now entering its third day. >> it's all focused on obamacare. that's all it's about. >> reporter: a new cbs news poll shows 72% of those polled disagree with shutting down the government over the affordable care act. with more americans blaming the gop for the impasse than the president and senate democrats. but house republicans are standing their ground saying any new budget agreement must include changes to the president's healthcare law. >> all we're asking for here is a discussion and fairness for the american people under obamacare. >> reporter: democrats say they

will negotiate but only after the house passes a temporary budget with no strings attached. with neither side showing any sign of giving in, the estimated 800,000 federal workers now furloughed are bracing for what could be an extended period without pay. >> my honey do list gets longer. >> reporter: bob turner is spending time gardening instead of working at the faa. >> it's definitely not like being on vacation. >> reporter: his income helps support his wife and their daughter's family. >> you don't know when it's going to end. you don't know how to plan for it. you don't know what the financial impact is going to be. >> reporter: turner has been through this before. he was furloughed during the last government shutdown in 1995. susan mcginnis, cbs news, washington. >> house republicans continue to pass individual bills to fund parts of the government but senate democrats say it's all or nothing. among the workers who have been furloughed are roughly 2,000 california national guard technicians who perform maintenance on firefighting aircraft.

the head of the guard is highly critical of the decision. according to the "san francisco chronicle," major general david baldwin says pentagon bureaucrats are putting lives at stake. we have some breaking news in san francisco at this hour. you're looking at the scene where police are investigating an attempted carjacking, shooting and then a crash. this is at guerrero and clinton park in the mission. police say around 4 a.m., the driver of a black car was shot at the area of mission and 18th. he then sped off then crashed his car. nobody was injured. police are now canvassing the area. they are looking for the gunman. a mistake led fbi agents right to the san francisco man accused of running a worldwide billion-dollar online drug empire. agents arrested ross ulbricht tuesday at the glen park public library. they say he used his own name in a posting on a programming message board while developing his online marketplace silk road. before the feds shut it down, court documents say the website

sold illegal drugs and services from fake ids to hit men. >> staffers at the glen park branch hear a commotion small crash coming from the science fiction area of the library and they identified themselves as being from the fbi and saying they were making an arrest. >> he is also accused of putting out a hit on a silk road user who threatened to blackmail him. eight people working for habitat for humanity were objected at gunpoint at a project site in oakland. police say four men robbed the workers tuesday at a 12-home development. the thieves made off with cell phones, wallets and tools. one victim was pistol-whipped but not seriously hurt. president jimmy carter is scheduled to visit there next week. san francisco neighbors will hold a memorial for the zen monk and mother who died after being hit by a city truck. the woman was killed last month at the bernal heights holly park. the d.a.'s office has not filed

charges against the city worker behind the wheel. community members will demand action to prevent this again. this morning san francisco supervisors will talk about the way police investigate serious accidents involving bicycles and pedestrians. the hearing was called in response to an accident this past august in which a bicyclist was run over by a truck. police were criticized for not citing the truck driver and for failing to find surveillance video of that crash. and the man behind a very strange online video is defending it even though it's prompted called of concern to police in pacifica. the video was shot on montara mountain showing a young woman walking but then it turns to reveal gort evans wearing a ski mask and a bizarre sinister grin. evans says the video is all a joke like many others he has made. he says he wasn't following anyone and nothing bad happened. >> i thought it was pretty obviously a joke that i wasn't a rapist. >> police say there's no indication any laws were broken

and they won't charge him with anything. this morning, governor brown is expected to sign a bill granting california driver's licenses to illegal immigrants. the new licenses would be marked differently from others and would not be considered valid federal identification. those licenses are expected to be issued starting in january of 2015. time now 6:10. workers stumble upon a fossil that's bigger than a car. the race against time to make sure scientists can get it out of the ground. >> we're learning leadership and team work. >> all dressed up in purple. the steele lane vikings are ready to play but that wasn't the case a year ago. who brought this team together to learn both on and off the court? coming your way. >> got warm weather on the way for the bay area today. and that means there could be fire danger in the bay area. we have details in a few minutes. >> and let's get a check of some east bay travel times. the westbound 580 commute is stacking up over the livermore valley. 24 minutes out towards the dublin interchange. we'll get a check of mass

and the teacher that had th wasn't going to sometimes it takes just one little idea to give an entire school a big lift. the teacher that had that idea wasn't going to take no for an answer. she loves basketball. she wanted her students to have a chance to play as well so she got busy and so did everyone else at santa rosa steele lane elementary school. we think it's pretty cool. reporter: once the multipurpose room and now it's the gym. steele lane elementary school is now hooping it up. a year ago, fourth, fifth and sixth graders had no program. but that's all changed. >> this is my passion. we need to make this happen. >> go, up and down up and down. >> reporter: 30-year-old christie merritt loves to teach but wanted to coach, too.

with a passion for basketball she decided steele lane needed a team. >> if somebody is that motivated and that enthusiastic and that passionate, i think it's my job as the administrator to say, what can i do? >> reporter: months of work organizing and phrasing with parents, family and friends the steele lane vikings were born. two teams, 27 boys, 27 girls, all proud to be in purple and learning much more than just basketball. >> we're learning leadership and team work and we're learning about just working together and cooperating. >> i'm big on school spirit. i believe that if you are enthusiastic about coming to school you're going to perform better. >> reporter: after a year, steele lane's program has taken off. they were adopted by neighboring sonoma state's athletic department. the vikings got schooled by their college hoop team on fundamentals, which then spawned the ticket to success program. we're now 11 santa rosa elementary schools including 1,000 students, parents and teachers, they will visit

sonoma state games and get a primer on sports and the importance of staying in school. >> it's an opportunity for us to really help foster a college building culture in elementary school and it it gives a sense of purpose for some of our students athletes as mentors as well. >> reporter: getting kids excited about school while staying fit. steele lane elementary school is this week's -- >> "cool school"! >> there were a few baskets there. >> after the kids did it, we did it a couple of times of. hey, i got one, i got one, i got one. >> neat. >> it was a total team effort, too. the community pitched in. everyone did to help these kids play a little hoop. what's cool about your school? email your nomination to us. coolschools@kpix.com and we may come out and feature your school on the show. a dinosaur fossil that's bigger than a car was uncovered at an oil pipeline construction site in alberta canada. workers stopped digging and called a paleontologist.

most of the morning showing us this live look at trimble and we want to be sure we catch him one more time. you can see so far traffic is still at the limit. it has been since we sent edgar out there at 4:30 a.m. so thank you for the live look. and out towards the bay bridge it's a different story. the metering lights were turned on around 6:00 so now traffic is backing up and all the lanes jammed up towards the overcrossings. 125 minutes to get on the bridge. once you get on bridge, everything is great. all the way towards yerba buena island. san mateo bridge similar story only 13 minutes or so. that hasn't changed much. the travel time is still the same out of hayward toward foster city. 880 in oakland near 66 and the oakland coliseum, the oakland airport is close to here. so both directions northbound and southbound moving at the limit. up towards 238, there was a crash that northbound 238 commute right by east 14th street. it had been blocking one of the

middle lanes. that's the one thing about these accidents that we have seen popping up this morning. they have been clearing them quickly so slight delays approaching the castro valley y. that is the latest from here in the "timesaver traffic" center. i know brian has been talking about a higher fire danger the past couple of days with these winds picking up. >> i asked you about twerking because you are the phi beta kappa grad from cal. if anybody could explain it, elizabeth could. >> that makes me a miley cyrus expert. >>among other things. look at the bay bridge. you see that faint little moon up there it's a beautiful start to the day. a waning move and that's about the only thing that will be waning in the next seven days. no rain in sight for the bay area. but there is warm temperatures -- there are warm temperatures on the way. 47 degrees at concord. oakland 57. livermore has 49. and san francisco at 54 right now. winds will pick up today. it will be a mostly clear start sunny and mild today, the numbers about the same today as yesterday. and a high fire danger due to

the bay area tomorrow and saturday. ridge builds in low pressure that's over the pacific northwest sinking to northern nevada. the winds will pick up, as well. in the futurecast the bright red color shows you where the winds will be popping. you can see by 3:00 this afternoon strong winds up at fairfield up to 27 miles an hour but the day goes on the winds sink into the lowlands so even san francisco by tonight we'll have gusts up to 20 so it will be a windy night in the bay area and it's a dry direction, as well. that's a problem. 77 redwood city. 71 at san francisco and 81 in livermore today. 80 up in santa rosa. extended forecast, high pressure builds in. it's going to be a great beach weeken inland. mid-80s. so cooling down monday, tuesday, wednesday we are back down near 80 degrees in the inland areas. but a warm weekend high fire danger so we have to keep an eye on it. >> very true.

francisco's mission district. this is guerrero and clinton park where police are investigating an attempted carjacking, shooting and crash. police say at about 4 a.m. this morning, the driver of a black car was shot at in the area of mission and 18th. you can see there, the bullets shattered the windshield. that was on the driver's side. he sped off and crashed. nobody was injured. police are now canvassing the area looking for the gunman. good morning, everyone. it's a busy morning. thursday, october 3. i'm frank mallicoat. >> i'm michelle griego. time now 6:31. a san francisco murder suspect was carrying a gun and was not afraid to show it. prosecutors say surveillance video showed the suspect openly holding the gun on a muni train last week. he is accused of shooting an sf state student in the back when he got off the train. prosecutors say the gunman was patient while he hunted for his victim. >> they call this a random crime but there's something so deliberate and cal late about going out there and -- calculated about going out there and selecting the person

you're going to execute. >> the suspect pled not guilty to the murder of 20-year-old justin valdez. investigators say he had pulled a gun on two other people that night. fbi agents say they nabbed a bay area man behind notorious underground drug empire that allowed traffickers to peddle heroin, cocaine and hire met men. cate caugiran is in the newsroom. cate, agents say the mastermind made a careless mistake. >> reporter: agent say ross ulbricht led agents to him when he used his own name when asking questions about running the site on a public message board. this was a man the fbi says ran a billion-dollar empire off of his laptop. just last year, he did this youtube interview with a friend. >> pretty sure i want to start a family in the next five years. i want to have had a substantial positive impact on the future of humanity. >> reporter: this morning, ross ulbricht the accused druglord is waking up in jail. he was busted yesterday

afternoon at the glen park public library. >> plainclothes fbi agents and they identified themselves as being from the fbi and saying they were making an arrest. >> reporter: before the feds shut it down, court documents say ulbricht's billion-dollar website called the silk road sold illegal services from fireworks to fake ids to hit men. in fact, the feds say ulbricht did hire a man to kill anyone who threatened to extort him. the fbi says the site was hidden away in something called the deep web, a part of the internet most of us have never heard of. we're also learning a new indictment was filed against ulbricht in another case. feds in maryland accused him of hiring yet another hit man to kill one of his employees. the hit man turned out to be an undercover cop. ulbricht is expected back in court tomorrow for a bail hearing. cate caugiran, kpix 5. >> the fbi shut down that website and the san francisco owner they say used the alias dread pirate roberts from the princess bride is now behind

bars facing life in prison. this is day 3 of the u.s. and there's no sign it's going to end soon. the obama administration's healthcare reforms are the big sticking points. the republican-controlled house will only pass a spending plan that delays or alters the affordable care act. the democrat-controlled senate won't pass such a plan. president obama met yesterday with congressional leaders but the meeting ended with no apparent progress. >> it's all focused on obamacare. that's all it's about. >> all we're asking for here is a discussion and fairness for the american people under obamacare. >> national parks are still closed and visitors still at yosemite have to leave by this afternoon. despite the shutdown, the navy, air force and army football teams will play this weekend. navy is scheduled to play san jose state at spartan stadium next month. the shutdown is taking away the fleet from this year's

fleet week in san francisco. the event is still expected to go on later this month despite the lack of military ships and blue angels airshows. organizers hope fireworks displays will make up some of the difference. online enrollment is back online for the california health insurance exchange after there were technical glitches on opening day. pages loaded slowly and logos for insurance plans weren't displaying correctly so the enrollment portion of the website was taken offline overnight tuesday into wednesday to fix the problems. there were more than 5.7 million hits on the website by tuesday afternoon. ceos of banks including goldman sachs, jpmorgan chase and bank of america went to the white house to talk to the president with the government shutdown. they warned him the financial system would suffer if it's not resolved. they also said failing to raise the debt ceiling by the october 17 deadline could jeopardize the already fragile economic recovery. union leaders recommended it but ac transit workers

rejected the latest contract offer. the tentative agreement calls for a 9.5% pay raise over the next 3 years. workers said that's not good enough. >> i think it reflects deep grievances about concessions given in the past, economic ground that was lost when times were tough, and for many workers, not making up enough of that ground. >> the union members also rejected a previous offer in august. >> much of our attention is focused on bart which is larger but a combination of one or both of these systems going down would create havoc. >> union leaders have not set a strike date. leaders said they will meet soon to discuss their next move. on wall street today, many eyes will be on palo alto-based tesla motors. shares of the electric car company fell about 6% yesterday after an accident caused a tesla model s car to burst into flames. kpix 5's kiet do on what went wrong. >> it's a brand-new car.>> reporter: to the cameraman, it's just another car fire on the freeway near seattle. >> i can feel the heat in here. >> reporter: until he realized what's burning. >> that's a tesla, dude! >> reporter: the tesla driver told the police he struck metal debris. the car warned him to pull

over. he did and escaped okay. the $70,000 car then burst into flames. firefighters had trouble putting it out. they had to flip the car on its side, then use a circular saw to cut into the battery housing and douse the flames. the only thing that got hurt was tesla's stock price. >> tesla trades on this perception of perfection. people have this image of the tesla like it's so perfect, it can't fail. >> reporter: this tech analyst says the stock had already been downgraded and news of the fire burst their bubble. >> the problem is the perception is so far ahead of reality that when you have a problem like this adjusts back something closer to reality. it just means the stock was overvalued and the end result is when you have a problem like this, the market will overreact. >> the shiny black is the underside of that battery casing. >> reporter: this tesla training video made for firefighters offers a glimpse of the smooth underbelly. the high energy lithium ion battery runs the length of the car. engineers are now looking at the data and the on board computer for clues as to what

might have happened. kiet do, kpix 5. >> tesla had been touting the model s as the safest car in america. a company spokeswoman says the fire was caused by a large metallic object that directly hit a battery pack module. tesla's stock is down another 4% in early trading this morning. >> all because that guy shot the video and showed it. >> i know. 6:38. brian is joining us on the anchor desk to talk about the weekend. >> windy and dry this time of year, frank, being the san francisco native that you are, you know that. it gets warm in the autumn and temperatures hit mid-80s by saturday and the weekend. right around the coastline, we are going to be looking for numbers to be in the mid-60s so not a bad beach weekend but we are starting out beautifully on this thursday morning. a little bit of a crescent move around the bay bridge. it's right there. that's about as pretty as it gets. isn't that a lovely shot?

the numbers this morning were mostly in the 50s around the bay area but concord just 47. 55 in santa rosa and 54 in san jose. winds pick up at the higher elevations and the temperatures as a result will be mild. wind blowing later in the day. san francisco's average, 70 degrees. we are about average for most locations, cooler in concord at 82 the average, 78 is the forecast high for the day. we'll have all the details including a dry outlook when we do the forecast in a few minutes. but speaking of trouble ahead, here's elizabeth. >> we may find trouble ahead towards the bay bridge. not huge trouble, minor trouble in terms of a stall. sounds like it's reported just past treasure island. so heads up there where there's probably slow traffic behind it. bridge crews are clearing it. we have the metering lights turned on so we are seeing the delays. they were turned on at 6:02 this morning and now it's jammed at least the 880

overcrossing. also, some troubles for mass transit. that powell street cable car line is down. we have just learned there's some sort of mechanical issue going on with it. so they are running shuttle buses instead. everything else though is on time. bart systemwide good to go. they should have more than 50 trains all reporting no delays. that's the latest from the "timesaver traffic" center. back to you. a spike in auto burglaries in palo alto has prompted police to set up patrols and urge the public to protect their vehicles. officers say thieves hit 61 vehicles last month. that's the highest total for a month since 2008. officers dealt with 261 auto burglaries in the first 9 months of this year. in 2012, police had 239 cases. and the year before, 229. in bay area news, oakland mayor jean quan faces an uphill battle for re-election. an oakland chamber of commerce poll shows only 5% of city voters would definitely vote for her again. 77% said quan is doing a fair

bring back the fun factor. wasserman media group just bought the race... and c-e-o casey wasserman says's a new owner of san francisco's famous bay to breakers race has a new owner who wants to make it the biggest race in the country. wasserman media group just bought the race and ceo casey wasserman says he is bringing back the fun to the event. wasserman met with long-time racers and city officials yesterday to get some input. the annual bay to breakers draws thousands of people. of course, dressing quirky costumes or nude. he wants to clean up the post- race parties and the race. he plans to improve security, as well. they have gotten a bad rap over the years. it's 6:45. the latest report on jobs showings a slight increase in new unemployment claims across the country. >> but they are down here in the state of california. here now is kcbs radio's financial reporter jason brooks. >> reporter: good morning. despite the federal government's shutdown, we are getting a report from the labor department that jobless claims because the data is collected by the state. and the claims continue to look pretty solid even though first-

time claims were up by 1,000 to 308,000. that's still near a six-year low and the four-week average is at a prerecession low. california had a nice drop and it's a continuing sign that the economic recovery is not even across all states in the country. now, job gains have been fairly weak. so while jobless claims are going down, we are not seeing the hiring that we would like to see. adp reported yesterday a gain of 166,000 jobs in september a little less than preferred to see. the national retail federation is predicting that holiday sales will be even stronger this year than last. looking at a gain of 3.9% versus the 3.5% gain last year, now if the shutdown goes on much longer, the nrs says that we are not going to see anything close to 3.9% gain so a lot depends on that. we have seen the video of that teslad model s on fire after a metallic object struck the battery in the car. that is worrying investors a little bit, of course.

but we haven't seen anything like this after about 83 million miles of teslas being driven around with the model s. the stock is down by another 3%. stock market falling this morning. the dow is down 62 points. nasdaq is off by 6. the s&p is lower by 6 points. michelle and frank, back to you. >> okay, jason brooks from kcbs news. thank you. sonoma county is about to get another casino. actually more than 300,000 square feet of new casino and as kpix 5's brian webb shows us, even neighbors in the shadow of the place are hoping to cash in. >> reporter: they literally hung the welcome sign outside the graton resort and casino in rohnert park which is pretty remarkable if you go to google maps and do a quick search for the place. google shows you an empty field on the outskirts of town. but after barely a year of construction, this is what that field looks like now. >> we didn't want to repeat the paradigm. we wanted to create a new

the way up the incline section towards treasure island. you can see it right there on our sensors as you make your way westbound 80. closer to the tunnel, that's a live snapshot. i think that's not frozen. anyway, traffic is better once you get past the accident scene. we'll continue to watch it. it sounds like bridge crews are aware of it. they are already working to clear it. now they have that new shoulder on the new eastern span to help things. here's a live look at the san mateo bridge. westbound 92 suddenly starting to get slow out of hayward. not too bad. it was a great alternate to the bay bridge if you are trying to find other ways around. the nimitz 880 in oakland, problem-free and delay-free all the way past oakland airport and coliseum towards downtown oakland. this would be a great route to take this morning. westbound 580 pretty typical delays for this i am too of the morning. under a half -- for this time of the morning. under a half hour from the altamont pass to the dublin interchange. things at the limit once again. the powell street cable cars down this morning.

prosecutors dropped the cha against one of two men arre in connection with an s-u-v five things to know at the :55. prosecutors dropped the charges against one of the two men arrested in connection with an suv driver swarmed by bikers in new york city. the bikers began pounding on his windows and slash his tires so the driver took off, hit three bikers in the process. police are still looking for more evidence in the case. there is no word yet on funeral arrangements for author tom clancy. he died yesterday in baltimore at age 66. clancy was known for thrillers such as the hunt for red october, patriot games and clear and present danger. an l.a. jury cleared concert promoter aeg live of negligence in the death of michael jackson. the family sued saying they hired the doctor had killed jackson in 2009. after five months of testimony they found while aeg live hired

dr. conrad murray he was competent to serve as the physician. murray was convicted of involuntary manslaughter two years ago. the sharks season begins in downtown this evening with a game against the vancouver canucks. the puck drops at 7:00 at the recently renamed sap center. the traditional rally begins at 4:45 this afternoon on autumn street outside the shark tank. and for a third day lawmakers are back on capitol hill. they are trying to end the government shutdown. house republicans say they are once again proposing a piecemeal approach to re- opening the government. votes are on tap to restore funds for veterans and paying members of the national guard and reserves. democrats say they will only pass an emergency spending bill. this morning there is progress in contract talks to keep bart from going on strike. kpix 5's anne makovec is in pleasant hill with how they are closer to compromise. >> reporter: bart management went late into the night poring over the numbers presented by

the unions but are not very close still to a deal. and in the meantime, passengers at stations like this one have one demand of their own. >> get it together. >> i think they need to actually get it together. >> reporter: the latest union proposal asks for a 3.75% raise over two years and 4% the third and a tenth of a percent raise for every tenth of a percent that weekly ridership goes above bart's projection. the unions also want bart to reimburse workers 72 senses for every dollar they contribute to their pension. as for the bart they are still offering employees a 2.5% raise each year for four years. >> we made a little progress. they came down a little, not very much, but they came down a little. >> management has not changed its recommendations on wages since the 60-day cooling-off period began 52 days ago. >> reporter: both sides go back to the negotiating table at 11 a.m.
